Why Churches?
Against the Odds, Chasing a Dream
Salomy grew up in a small rural village where opportunities are few and daily life is marked by hardship. Her family has very little, but she has never allowed her circumstances to define her future.
Through determination and countless obstacles, Salomy graduated from high school, an achievement reached by only about 3% of girls in Malawi. Her success is a testament to her perseverance and her desire to build a better future.
Today, Salomy has taken another courageous step by enrolling in college to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She longs to care for others and give back to her community through compassionate medical care.
Sadly, her education has come to a standstill. Without the financial means to pay her tuition, she has been forced to leave school until she can secure the support she needs.
A sponsorship of $150 per month would allow Salomy to return to college, continue her education, and move toward a future where she can bring hope and healing to countless lives.
Will you invest in Salomy's dream and help equip a future nurse who is determined to make a lasting difference?

A Life That Should Not Be Lived Alone
At 61 years old, Agness has experienced unimaginable loss. Her husband has passed away, and so have all of her children. Today, she faces life completely alone.
Without family to care for her and no retirement income or government assistance, Agness must rely on the kindness of others for even her most basic needs. Each day brings uncertainty, and simple things like food and daily necessities are never guaranteed.
No one should have to face this season of life without hope or companionship.
By sponsoring Agness, you will do more than help provide for her practical needs. You will remind her that she is seen, loved, and deeply valued. Through your compassion, she will experience the love of Jesus in a personal and tangible way.
Will you be the one to walk alongside Agness and remind her that she is never alone?

Meet Liza: A Life of Quiet Strength
At 45 years old, Liza Nthala’s days are defined by tireless work. Under the thatched roof of her small home, she cares for her husband and children with a resilience that is humbling to witness.
The Nthala family doesn't wait for luck; they grow it. They survive by tending a small plot of rice, which they carry to the local market to sell. Every meal Liza prepares is cooked over an open fire, using wood she gathers by hand. Liza isn't looking for a handout, she is looking for a hand up. Your sponsorship provides the stability she needs to turn her hard work into a sustainable future for her children. One person at a time ❤️
A Lifetime of Faith, A Season of Need: Meet Suwedi Amadi
For most of her life, Suwedi worked hard, cared for her family, and raised nine children through both joyful and difficult seasons. Today, she is a widow facing challenges no one should have to face alone.
No one knows Suwedi's exact age. Without birth records, she has simply been told she is about 69 years old.
As she has grown older, Suwedi has become nearly blind. Simple daily tasks are now overwhelming, and she must rely on the kindness of others for many of her basic needs.
Growing old in Malawi is especially difficult for widows. There is no Social Security, pension, or retirement income. When a person can no longer work, survival often depends on the compassion of others.
Although Suwedi is a Muslim, we believe every person deserves to experience the love of Jesus through acts of compassion. Your sponsorship will provide practical care while reminding her that she is seen, valued, and deeply loved.
Will you help ensure Suwedi is cared for and experience the hope that comes through Christ's love?

Determined by Faith, Not Defined by Disability
For all 60 years of her life, Martha has lived with a disability that has left her unable to walk. Everyday tasks that most of us take for granted require the help of others, and she depends on the kindness of her community for many of her basic needs.
Despite these challenges, Martha's faith remains unwavering. She treasures every opportunity to worship with her church family. When no one is available to carry her, she has been known to crawl to church rather than miss the chance to gather with other believers. Her determination is a powerful reflection of a faith that refuses to give up.
Because Martha cannot provide for herself, life is a daily struggle. Yet more than material needs, she longs to know that she is seen, valued, and loved.
By sponsoring Martha, you can help meet her practical needs while reminding her that she is never forgotten. Through your compassion, she will experience the love of Jesus in a personal and tangible way.
Will you be the one to encourage Martha and walk alongside her in this season of life?

In the heart of Central Malawi’s Ntchisi District lies Chikho, a rural village rich in spirit but face challenges. Amid infrastructure and economic hurdles, Chamalala Church stands as a beacon of light, faith, and community support. Led by Pastor Vincent Halid, this vibrant fellowship of 75 dedicated members gathers to worship, care for one another, and share the transformative Love of Jesus Christ.
The church and its surrounding community contend with obstacles daily:
Severe Water Scarcity: Over 250 local households lack access to safe drinking water. Women and children endure long walks just to fetch untreated water, taking away time from school and family.
Limited Power and Infrastructure: Nearby schools struggle without reliable electricity, creating hurdles for children trying to learn and build a brighter future.
Despite these hardships, Pastor Vincent and the congregation at Chamalala Church remain steadfast to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus by offering practical aid, spiritual comfort, and unwavering hope to families in need.
How You Can Make a Difference
To continue growing their ministry, Chamalala Church needs partners like you. Your sponsorship directly empowers Pastor Vincent and this growing congregation to bring transformation to their village.
Will you partner with us to ensure Chamalala Church is cared for and help this community experience the life changing hope that comes through Christ’s love?
Together, we can transform lives, one community at a time. ❤️
A Grandmother's Love Never Retires
At 67 years old, Stelia has spent a lifetime caring for others. Today, as she enters her senior years, the roles have been reversed. She now depends on her family for the care and support she needs each day.
Pictured with her granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Stelia is surrounded by family who love her deeply. Yet together they face an overwhelming challenge. With little income and few opportunities, there are times when there is simply not enough food for everyone.
Like many elderly people in rural Malawi, Stelia has no pension, retirement income, or government assistance. Her family gladly shares what they have, but what they have is often very little.
By sponsoring Stelia, you are doing more than caring for one woman. In Malawi, families share everything, and your generosity will help bring stability, nourishment, and hope to the entire household.
Will you share God's love with Stelia and her family by giving them the support they need during this season of life?

A Home in Need, A Life Worth Loving
At 61 years old, Shaida lives alone in a small one-room home with a thatched roof and a mud floor. Years of wear have left the house in poor condition, a daily reminder of the hardships she faces.
With no family to care for her and very limited resources, Shaida struggles to meet even her most basic needs. Malnutrition has taken a toll on her health, leaving her with ongoing medical challenges and little strength to care for herself.
Growing older in rural Malawi is incredibly difficult without someone to lean on. Yet despite her circumstances, Shaida's life has immeasurable value, and she deserves the dignity of knowing she is not forgotten.
By sponsoring Shaida, you will help provide the care and support she needs while reminding her that she is seen, loved, and deeply valued. Through your compassion, she will experience the love of Jesus in a practical and personal way.
Will you be the one to bring hope, encouragement, and care to Shaida during this season of her life?

Y-Malawi emphasizes supporting women - not because men don’t matter (they do!) - but because research shows the IMPACT is consistently higher and more predictable when resources are directed toward women. When women are sponsored, the rest of the community (including men and boys) benefits.
