You don't need special skills, just a heart ready to share the Love of Jesus, build lifelong friendships, and encourage the people of Malawi.

You’ll forge unforgettable memories: staying on the shores of beautiful Lake Malawi, witness life in a Malawi village, meeting the Y-Malawi team, and connecting with people in the sponsorship program.   • To help ensure the trip meets the needs of the group, each trip is designed specifically for the team participating.

    A typical 14‐day vision trip includes:

    • Travel to and from Malawi
    • Ministry dedicated each day to children, youth, Chiefs, women, and churches
    • Daily devotions and evening reflection
    • 1 day for rest with nature, spiritual processing

  • Once you arrive in Malawi, the trip is co hosted by Y-Malawi staff both from the USA & Malawi. The staff from Malawi help guide and share best practices to help the trip go smoothly and help trip participants understand and respect their culture. USA staff are the bridge to help organize and provide support for both the Y-Malawi team and trip participants.

  • Y-Malawi is here to help! We have led hundreds of people on trips to Malawi! You will participate in multiple trip planning meetings with your trip leader and other trip participants where you will:

    • get to know others going on the trip

    • get packing lists

    • learn best practices

    • learn how to prepare mentally and spiritually

  • The current all inclusive cost to go on a trip to Malawi is $4000. This includes:

    • airfare

    • lodging in hotels with running water, toilets and warm showers.

    • 3 meals a day

    • transportation

    We can provide you tools to help fundraise for your trip.

    Some elect to bring $100 spending money for personal purchases.

    The experience…… is priceless.

  • No skills are needed.
    If you do have a skill you feel could be beneficial, feel free to share that during the onboarding meetings.

    English is spoken in many places and our Y-Malawi team can help communicate.

    A passport and visa is required. No vaccinations are required to enter Malawi.

    The CDC recommends multiple vaccinations be up to date. Anti-malarial medication is also recommended.

  • A Vision Trip is more of an exploratory, observational journey designed to help individuals, church leaders, or supporters experience life on the ground, build relationships, and discern how to partner with or serve a ministry.

    Rather than focusing on completing a specific project, the primary goal of a vision trip is to learn, listen, see where God takes you and be present.

  • If you are unable to form a group of approximately 6 to 12 people, please reach out to us. We frequently combine smaller groups and individual travelers from across the country! Before the trip, we will also host virtual get-togethers so everyone can connect and get to know one another.

In 2026 alone, one outreach served over 1,700 patients, saving and transforming lives in profound ways. But these missions do more than heal patients…..they make a lasting impact on everyone who serves. No experience necessary!
